About crypto.com fees

Crypto.com fees split sharply across two different products that share one account. The Crypto.com App — the consumer-facing mobile buy/sell screen most users start with — prices trades through a variable admin fee that isn't shown as a fixed published percentage, similar in spirit to Coinbase's Simple screen. The Crypto.com Exchange is the separate, order-book-based platform with a transparent maker/taker fee schedule that starts at 0.25%/0.50% and drops with 30-day volume or CRO staking. Knowing which product you're actually trading on is the single biggest factor in what a Crypto.com trade costs.

How it works

On the App, Crypto.com's own help center describes the charge as an admin fee 'assessed at the time of purchase' and set by 'a combination of factors including market conditions, certain promotions or promotional periods, volatility, and liquidity' — it shows up in the trade preview before you confirm, but it isn't a fixed labeled percentage the way an exchange's maker/taker rate is. On the Exchange, you trade against a real order book and pay a published maker/taker fee — roughly 0.25% maker / 0.40–0.50% taker at the base tier for accounts under $10,000 in 30-day volume, stepping down through Crypto.com's VIP tiers as volume rises. Staking the platform's native CRO token unlocks additional fee discounts on the Exchange, with higher staking tiers cutting maker fees toward zero and taker fees toward a few basis points at the top tiers. Crypto withdrawals pass through the network fee for whatever chain you withdraw on; ACH fiat withdrawals to a US bank are typically free, while some fiat/card rails carry their own processing fee.

How to pay less

  1. 1Check which product you're in — the Crypto.com App's 'Trade' tab (admin-fee priced) or the separate Exchange (transparent maker/taker) — before assuming a rate.
  2. 2Move active trading to the Exchange rather than the App's simple buy/sell screen.
  3. 3Stake CRO if you trade often enough to benefit from the resulting maker/taker discount.
  4. 4Withdraw fiat via ACH where available, and pick a cheap network (an L2 or Solana rather than Ethereum mainnet) for crypto withdrawals.

Pros

  • The Exchange's maker/taker schedule is fully transparent and published, unlike the App's variable admin fee.
  • CRO staking gives active traders a real, compounding fee discount on top of standard volume tiers.
  • ACH fiat withdrawals in the US are typically fee-free, unlike some competitors' card-based rails.

Watch out for

  • The App's admin fee isn't a fixed labeled percentage, so it's easy to underestimate what a trade actually costs until you see the trade preview.
  • The Exchange's base-tier taker fee (roughly 0.50%) is higher than Kraken Pro's or Bybit's base rate.
  • CRO's own price volatility means a fee discount earned by staking can be offset by movement in the staked token's value.

Common questions

What's the difference between the Crypto.com App and the Crypto.com Exchange?

The App is the consumer mobile 'buy/sell' screen most users start with — it prices trades through a variable admin fee shown in the trade preview rather than a fixed labeled rate. The Exchange is a separate order-book platform with a transparent maker/taker fee schedule starting around 0.25%/0.50%. Same account, same funds, very different pricing — the Exchange is almost always cheaper for anyone trading more than occasionally.

How much does Crypto.com charge to buy or sell?

On the App, Crypto.com's own help center says the admin fee is 'assessed at the time of purchase' based on market conditions, promotions, volatility, and liquidity — check the trade preview screen for the exact amount before confirming. On the Exchange, the base tier charges roughly 0.25% maker / 0.40–0.50% taker on spot trades, before any CRO staking discount.

Does staking CRO actually lower Crypto.com fees?

Yes. Crypto.com's Exchange gives staking-tier discounts on top of standard volume-based maker/taker tiers — higher CRO staking tiers cut the maker fee toward zero and the taker fee to a small fraction of a percent for high-volume accounts. The discount only applies on the Exchange, not the App, and depends on keeping the required CRO staked.

What does Crypto.com charge to transfer or withdraw crypto?

Crypto deposits are generally free. Withdrawing crypto passes on the network fee for the chain you withdraw on — cheap on an L2 or Solana, more expensive on Ethereum or Bitcoin mainnet during busy periods, the same network-fee logic that applies across every exchange. Fiat withdrawals via ACH in the US are typically free; other fiat rails can carry their own processing cost.

Does the Crypto.com debit card add its own crypto fee?

The Crypto.com Visa card doesn't add a separate crypto-conversion fee beyond the normal admin fee or Exchange rate on whatever purchase or top-up triggers a crypto-to-fiat conversion. Card tier — which requires staking CRO — determines cashback rates and perks, a different topic from the App/Exchange trading fees covered here.

Is Crypto.com cheaper than Coinbase or Binance?

It depends which product you compare. Crypto.com Exchange's roughly 0.25%/0.40–0.50% base tier is similar to Coinbase Advanced Trade's 0.40%/0.60% base tier but higher than Binance's 0.10%/0.10% base rate. The Crypto.com App and Coinbase's Simple screen are both priced above their respective advanced platforms and cost roughly comparable amounts.
